A small group with one stubborn question: how do we turn biomass — abundant, messy, low-value — into fuels, chemicals and functional materials that are actually worth something? We pair experiments with theory: catalysis and carbon materials on one side, computation on the other.

Lecturer at the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Jiangsu University (PhD 2023). Research: biomass valorization, catalytic pyrolysis, carbon materials and photocatalysis, with DFT and machine learning as the theory arm. PI of an NSFC Young Scientists Fund project. More about me →

First-year master's student. Working direction: photocatalysis.

Running the group's photocatalytic degradation experiments.

The group's computational counterpart — DFT, molecular dynamics and machine learning for catalytic pyrolysis and carbon materials. Affiliated with Jiangsu University and Cranfield University; her Google Scholar profile records 1,366 citations (h-index 17), including nine recent papers co-authored with Dr. Jiang.
Prospective students who like carbon materials, catalysis and honest data are welcome to get in touch — email jiang@dischome.cn with a short note about what you want to work on. No promises, just a conversation.
